Why we picked it

I'm planning a hike in Douglas Provincial Park on May 2nd. The recent snow should have melted and the moisture absorbed in the sandy soil. Douglas Provincial Park is about an hour and a half southeast of Saskatoon. We'll hike the Dunes trails (6 kms plus meandering around the dunes); then the Sunset Trail (2 kms plus beach walking); for a total of 10-12 kms. We'll meet at 9 a.m. at Tim Hortons on Clarence Avenue in Stonebridge to organize car pooling. Entry into the park is $11/vehicle/day or free for seniors over 65 in 2026. The Visitor Centre will not be open so if we need passes we can purchase them online. We should get back to Saskatoon about 5 p.m. Brings lots of water, a hat, sunscreen, snacks and lunch. Dress in layers because it can be hot or cold, windy and sunny in the park. There may also be ticks so dress appropriately. If you haven't paid for the meetup this year, please e-transfer $10 to eneudorf@hotmail.com before the hike.
