Beyond Pinot: Oregon's Hidden Gems
Look, we love Pinot Noir. Everybody loves Pinot Noir. But Oregon winemakers have been busy planting all kinds of other things too: Gamay, Tempranillo, Grüner Veltliner, and even a few you'll want to Google on the way home.A lot of these wines come in small batches and often get poured mostly at the winery, so they rarely make it to a shop shelf. Think of this class as your shortcut. We tracked them down, so all you have to do is show up and drink.
We'll taste through the lineup, dig into where these grapes grow and why a winemaker would gamble on something most people have never heard of, and maybe find your new house red along the way. Bonus: next time someone at a dinner party says Oregon only makes Pinot, you'll have plenty to say.
