What Is: is a multipart performance and engagement series that examines the threads that tie music together. Our fifth edition, themed around noncompliance, explores how music can act as a direct tool of resistance against the spaces and systems that constrain and capitalize artistic practice. At its core, experimentation is rooted in disobedience. This festival reclaims technologies, radicalizes perspectives, demands criticality and engages in collective creation to reimagine what it means to be an artist in this highly volatile time. Fest pass holders should note that this pass includes workshops and concerts.
