About this event

Families are invited to celebrate Día de los Muertos and Halloween in Oakland’s Laurel District on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. Hosted by the Laurel District Association, this free, family-friendly community celebration will feature festive activities, creative crafts, music, games and trick-or-treating at neighborhood businesses along Mac

Arthur Boulevard. The festivities begin in the parking lot of Golondrina’s Mexican Grill, located at 4171 Mac

Arthur Blvd., where families can pick up free commemorative trick-or-treat tote bags while supplies last. From there, attendees can enjoy an afternoon of Halloween entertainment and community activities designed for children and families. Activities will include themed craft tables, grooving to Halloween classics, face painting for kids, a photo booth, lawn games on the astroturf and community altar building in recognition of Día de los Muertos, the Mexican tradition honoring loved ones who have passed away.
