About this event
A $10 materials fee will be collected on-site for the workshop. In this workshop, you will create a coaster using indigo-dyed fabric scraps and thread through a traditional Japanese stitching technique called Sashiko. However, the main purpose is not simply to learn how to sew. Colour has no weight and no physical texture. But by intentionally trying to "touch" it, you begin to notice things: subtle fluctuations, how it resonates differently depending on the material, and how it evolves with use. This uneven, unpredictable fluctuation is the greatest charm of natural indigo dyeing. As you work with your hands, let's focus on the profound depth that natural indigo possesses.
