**Childish Things: A Memoir by Dave Warnock and Jennifer Wachtel Kates is a 2022 autobiographical book that details Warnock's 35-year transition from an evangelical Christian pastor to an atheist.**
**The memoir traces Warnock's involvement in the 1970s Jesus Movement, his subsequent decades working on church staffs, and his eventual deconversion from Christianity.**
**It covers his shift away from faith alongside personal, vocational, and financial challenges, paired with his later diagnosis with ALS.**
