Why we picked it

This is a local favorite canyon trail with views of Layer Cake Mountain, Scenic Canyon, and the historic rock ovens along Mission Creek. It is considered moderately challenging with a 11 km approx. out and back and 438 m elevation gain. We will start at the Scenic Canyon parking lot off of 2080 Hollywood Rd S. Our moving time is just over 3 hours so I have allotted 30 min for a snack break, and time to check out the rock ovens. Bring water, snacks, hiking poles if you use them, and tick spray just in case.
