This is a 2 part workshop, you must attend both days for the full experience! Wednesday, April 29, from 7:00 8:30 PM Sunday, May 3, from 7:00 8:30 PMJoin local artists Sarah Boo and Caitlin Chan for a dynamic two-part workshop on field recordings and audio creation. In Part 1, explore the art of field recording through a mix of discussion and hands-on practice. Learn about the history of field recordings, recording techniques, and discover Caitlin Chans work on mapping urban cyclist soundscapes before heading outdoors to capture your own audio.In Part 2, Sarah will guide participants through audio editing using Audacity, a free audio editing software. Through demonstrations and a group work session, attendees will transform raw recordings into unique pieces and share them with fellow participants.Each workshop will be 1.5 hours in length. No experience necessary. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop and headphones.
