About this event

Mary Walsh is calling on the Newfoundland and Labrador government to rethink its decision to close Horizons at 106, warning that the planned transition could put some of the province's most vulnerable people at greater risk. PROTEST INFO: Date: Wednesday, Oct. 28th 2026 Location: Steps of The Confederation Building Time: 1:00pm What: Mary Walsh will speak on the callous nature of our Government and their plan to throw many of our most vulnerable citizens to the wolves on the 15th of December, 2026 just in time for Christmas. Could they be any more Scrooge-like? At least Ebenezer Scrooge only said: "Are there no prisons? Are there no poor houses/private shelters?". He didn't actually evict at-risk people from their supportive housing just days before Christmas!! Walsh is inviting members of the media, the Premier, Minister Chris Tibbs, members of the House of Assembly, federal MPs, community organizations, families affected by addiction and members of the public to join her on the steps
