Presentation on Salmon Flies by Arthur Heffernan

Arthur will be doing a talk on Classic Salmon Flies. He will discuss the different styles of Salmon flies, the hooks and how to make them, sourcing and preparing materials and of course the tying. He will have a sampling of the materials needed along with several examples of salmon flies he has tied. Non members and guests welcome Arthur spent his youth living steps from the Grand in Brantford and spent his summers in and on the river. He later spent 7 years working with the Ontario Ranger program maintaining Parks and Crown land in Northern Ontario. While he found fly fishing and tying, he has spent a good deal of time focused on learning to tie historic patterns. Arthur is happy to share some of his experience from the past few years of learning to tie Salmon flies. Non members and guests welcome.
