Photo Workshop: Framing the City w/ Ana Galizes

Great photography isn't always about expensive gear, it’s about knowing how to control the camera you already have. In this photography-based class, students will explore how framing, composition, perspective, and point of view can change the way we see an urban environment. Students will photograph Raleigh’s architecture, streets, public spaces, and everyday details while considering how their choices as photographers can communicate a particular experience or interpretation of the city. Learning Objectives: Explore different approaches to framing and composition. Use perspective, scale, and point of view to create visually interesting photographs. Consider how photographers can change the meaning or feeling of a place through image-making. Create a small collection of photographs that presents a personal interpretation of the city.
