Meet at 9:30 at the Woodmen Park and Ride lot (exit 149 from I25)
The Paint Mines provides a unique and colorful area to hike. This is an easy-to-moderate trail with stunning views of the Paint Mines, a geological formation with vibrant clay and rock formations. We will hike a 4 mile loop with less than 500 feet of elevation gain. We will drive 45 minutes from the park and ride to the Paint Mines trail head.
Directions if you want to meet us at the TH: Drive east on Woodmen
and then turn left (NE) at Falcon on highway 24 . From there turn right on Yoder St after Calhan and then left on Paint Mines Rd. The TH just up on your left. Even easier of course is to just enter "Paint Mines Interpretive Park" or "29950 Paint Mine Rd" into your navigation program.
NEEDED: WATER, hiking boots, sunglasses, sunscreen, first aid kit, and snacks/drinks.
