No Japanese needed: this is a live beginner class on Zoom, explained in English. Start a friendly conversation, give a compliment, ask someone out and say or hear no gracefully, in polite Japanese.

**In the hour, you'll learn to:**

- Say no politely, recognise an indirect no, and take no gracefully

- Start a polite conversation and ask about someone's hobbies

- Give natural compliments and answer one modestly

- Swap LINE contacts and send a friendly follow-up

- Invite someone out with the soft 〜ませんか? form

Every phrase comes with romaji, so you don't need to read Japanese yet.

You repeat together with the whole class (nobody is singled out), then **practise in small breakout rooms of 2 or 3**. Afterwards your **phrase sheet** with a pronunciation guide stays in your account.
