New Orleans Shadow Play Masters Workshop

We are hosting an afternoon workshop for anyone interested in the technical and creative side of shadow puppetry. This session is designed for both beginners and those who have worked behind the screen before, focusing on the mechanics of light, movement, and silhouette construction. We will be working through a few classic techniques and experimenting with how different materials affect the quality of the image on the screen, so come prepared to get your hands dirty and experiment with a few prototypes.

Whether you are looking to build your first puppet or just want to spend a few hours troubleshooting your setup with others in the local community, this is a great chance to learn in a relaxed, collaborative environment. We will have basic materials on hand, but feel free to bring any sketches or character ideas you have been working on. If you plan on joining us, please make sure to RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for supplies and space.
