About this event

MOCA Jax hosts this workshop for adults led by a local artist.

About this Event

Drawing is the foundation of many visual art practices, and this class explores how working with permanent materials can strengthen observation and decision-making. Using pen or marker instead of pencil encourages participants to focus on intentional contour lines, confident mark-making, and visual problem-solving without relying on erasing or repeated revisions. Inspired by the additive approach used in tattooing, participants will develop portrait drawings through deliberate line work, emphasizing accuracy, expression, and the confidence to build an image through permanent marks.

Studio Practice is a monthly series of hands-on, practical art classes where students of all levels learn to create in varying media with the instruction of a local artist. Open to adults and teens in the company of an adult.
