Mission Alaska Film, Oakland Premiere

The Incredible Mission of the Church in Alaska Danger. Darkness. Distance. Devotion. Mission Alaska reveals a hidden story of the Catholic Church in America: preaching the Gospel in one of the harshest environments on earth. This documentary chronicles the incredible efforts of priests, religious, and laity as they brave the elements, a lack of roads, and a serious shortage of priests to keep the light of faith alive. This is the Catholic Church in the 49th State, where some communities wait a year or more for a priest to celebrate the sacraments. With stunning visuals, fascinating stories, and surprises along the way, Mission Alaska will take you on an adventure through the Last Frontier.
