About this event

Renaissance or Revolution? During the late 1960s and 1970s, Newfoundland and Labrador artists bucked trends, crafting a bold aesthetic and ethos that shaped a distinct regional identity we continue to celebrate today. Interviews with these pioneers form the foundation of Elena Hynes’ non-fiction work, Mom, Dad, and the Newfoundland Renaissance, while in I’ll Bring My Own Chair, Eleanor Dawson captures the perspective of Adrian Battcock, a quadriplegic law and disability advocate working during this period of political change. For this lively roundtable discussion, the authors are joined by some celebrated figures and personalities connected with this era of cultural revitalization in our province. This is a free program, but a ticket is required. Please reserve your free tickets online or by calling 709-757-8090. This program is offered in partnership with Breakwater Books Ltd.
