Come and hear some Great Stories on February 5, 2027 at 7:30pm at the Arts & Culture Centre. Enjoy the third Masterworks installment, with conductor Adam Johnson and the CALOS Youth Orchestras, who will be joining the NSO on stage. Presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott St. John’s Conference Centre as part of the NSO's Masterworks Series. The night opens with Carl Maria von Weber’s Oberon Overture which brings theatrical energy, followed by the graceful Callirhoe Suite by Cécile Chaminade. Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, which also draws from theatre music, with melodies and moods that portray scenes, characters, and shifting emotions. After intermission, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastorale” brings the evening to a gentle close, offering a reflective ending to a program shaped by musical imagery and atmosphere.
