About this event

Martin Guerre returns to London in a bold new production at the Old Vic Theatre. Featuring new music, new lyrics, folk-inspired orchestrations and an immersive in-the-round staging, this strictly limited season offers a fresh take on an extraordinary true story. Inspired by the remarkable events of 16th-century France, the musical follows a woman whose husband disappears, only for a man claiming to be him to return years later. As questions of identity, love and loyalty begin to unfold, the community must determine who is telling the truth. Martin Guerre explores passion, deception and justice through a gripping story of mistaken identity. ➕ What's Included • Admission to Martin Guerre at Old Vic Theatre ➕ Important Information • Date: 1 – 31 October 2026 • Age Guidance: 12+ • Run Time: TBC • Interval: Includes i
