Jamieson Mountain is a 10.6 km (total distance) out and back hike. The approximate location is near the village of Griffith, east of Bancroft. The hike offers great views of the beautiful Madawaska Valley. The first half of the hike is mostly uphill. It is reported to take between 2 and 3.5 hours to complete the hike. I have hiked very close by, but have not done this particular trail (not for want of trying, however ...). There are reportedly some steep sections. This is a long drive for those of us in the Peterborough area, but for more scenic/advanturous hikes like this one, we have to venture a little further. The plan is to carpool, to the extent possible, once we know who is going. We'll commence the hike at approximately 10 am once we have all arrived. I will be departing Peterborough a little before 7:30 am to be able to make it by 10. I plan to meet in Bancroft and caravan from there.
