Why we picked it

This month, we’ll be exploring FLIP animations with Joe Racz, creator of FlipKitJS. Joe will introduce the FLIP technique — First, Last, Invert, Play — and show how it can turn changes to the DOM into smooth, natural animations. We’ll look at practical examples including reordering and filtering lists, changing layouts, expanding content, moving elements around a page, and even animating transitions between routes. The talk will combine demonstrations with a hands-on opportunity to put the ideas into practice using FlipKitJS, so bring your laptop if you want to participate. By the end of the evening, you’ll have a better understanding of when FLIP animations can be useful and some practical experience applying the technique to your own interfaces.
