What would it take to survive the hardships of wartime Britain and then leave everything behind to start a new life in outport Newfoundland as a war bride? St. John's musician and songwriter Andrew Rodgers retraces the remarkable journey of his great-grandmother Joan Masters, a British war bride who came to Newfoundland after WWII. Through interviews, travel, and family stories, Andrew uncovers the sacrifices and resilience that shaped his family's history, inspiring a powerful new song to honour that legacy. This film is 54 minutes long. Andrew Rodgers will join us for a Q&A session following the film. Tickets: $12 plus HST. 10% discount for Rooms members.
