Dawson Butte Loop

Irene will lead this hike on Dawson Butte Ranch Open Space, near Castle Rock. It is a pleasant 5-mile loop, with a 357 foot total elevation gain up to 6,880 feet, that is generally considered an easy hike. We can do that or turn back about the 2 mile mark if we want to stay in the trees. We can decide as a group at the 2mile mark whether to go back thru the trees ir continue the full 5 mile loop. Boots, sunglasses and hats will be needed, and you should plan on bringing a jacket, water and snacks in a day pack. Some members may wish to bring hiking poles for increased stability.
