About this event

Weinroth-Browne weaves together Baroque purity with post-rock and experimental noise with music from his 2026 cello album Empyrean.

About this Event

Cello-centricity! hurdles into its second concert with Empyrean, a concert-length journey adapted from a commission for contemporary dance. Raphael Weinroth-Brown interprets the influence of Bach through the ages into present day, where Baroque counterpoint unfolds with modern metal, post-rock, and experimental noise. Whereas Lifeblood meditates on the organic, materiality, and mortality, Empyrean looks beyond to the spiritual and sublime.
