Celebrating Ottawa 200 Through Art, Community, and Creative Connection

In 2026, Ottawa will celebrate its 200th anniversary, with the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) actively involved in the festivities through the initiative “200+: Culture to the Core.” This yearlong celebration focuses on arts and cultural activities downtown, showcasing collaboration with local artists and partners to reflect on the city’s history while acknowledging the deep Indigenous histories that predate its founding. The OAG aims to create inclusive experiences and amplify diverse voices through various exhibitions, events, and projects, ultimately strengthening community ties and supporting local artists. The celebrations invite everyone to engage with Ottawa’s vibrant culture and envision its future.
