Please join us in celebrating Italian American Heritage Month with a special viewing of the movie "Cabrini" at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University. The film Cabrini represents so much to our community, the Italian-American experience, the struggles of all immigrants of that era, and the extraordinary story of Mother Cabrini, who immigrated from Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, Italy. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1909 and went on to become the first U.S. citizen to be canonized as a saint. Over the course of 30 years, she established more than 67 schools and hospitals serving immigrants, orphans, and those in need throughout the United States, Europe, Central America, and South America. This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together in South Florida to educate, celebrate, and honor Italian-American heritage, accomplishments, and contributions throughout the years.
