@ Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of drypoint printmaking! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be creating an edition of 5 original prints using a printmaking technique called drypoint. This medium is similar to etching, but it’s far safer because no dangerous acids are involved. Rembrandt is a well known Old Master who excelled at both drypoint and etching.   For botanical subject matter, please bring sketches and line drawings for inspiration and reference. The image needs to measure 4×6 inches; you’ll learn how to incise the image onto a printing plate using a drypoint needle. If you’re stuck for ideas on what to create, there will be pressed leaves available which make lovely subjects. You’ll also learn how to ink the plate and work with an old-fashioned mechanical printing press.   Drypoint gets messy, so please wear old clothes or bring an apron. Also, please bring a pair of dishwashing gloves.   Saturday, October 24, 1 to 4 p.
