Have you always wanted to learn to quilt and didn't know where to start? Or do you have a budding sewist that you'd like to help get started? This two-afternoon class will focus on the basics - reading a pattern, cutting, pressing and piecing the top of the quilt. We will be using a simple quilt pattern (which is included!) for a lap size quilt. You bring your fabric (9 fat quarters), thread, your sewing machine and tools! A follow-up class (Nov. 20-21) will teach the basics of machine quilting and binding. Skill Level: Beginner Skill Details: Need to be able to sew a straight stitch on your machine Materials Included: Quilt pattern will be provided Supplies Provided: Pattern to make a throw size quilt Supplies to Bring: - Fabric required - Nine (9) Fat Quarters (18"x 21"). - Sewing machine ready to sew (1/4" foot highly recommended) - Thread (light colored) - Rotary Cutter (45mm) (multiple cutting mats available to share) - Ruler - 6"x 24" recommended - Small iron and mat (Optional -
