About this event

The ASU Symphony Orchestra opens the concert with ASU Music Theatre and Opera in a collaborative presentation of "Prologue to Ariadne auf Naxos" by Richard Strauss. In Ariadne auf Naxos, we experience how a marriage of convenience between high-brow opera and low-brow comedy can succeed. Invention triumphs and harmony prevails. The second half features works by Louise Farrenc and Manuel de Falla, and faculty guest artist Jeff Anderle, solo bass clarinet, on Michael Torke's "October," in a new version commissioned by ASU Orchestras. Please join us for this concert celebrating the breadth and talent of ASU's own artistic community. Repertoire: Richard Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos (Prologue) Louise Farrenc: Overture No. 2 in E-flat Major Michael Torke: October (Jeff Anderle, solo clarinet) Manuel de Falla: El Sombrero de Tres Picos, Suite No. 2

All patrons must have a ticket, including infants in arms. Venue is accessible to all patrons. Seats in accessible section are limited to one companion seat. THERE IS NO ACCESSIBLE SEATING AVAILABLE IN BALCONY OR TIER SECTIONS.
