Anise Russow:Toronto based singer-songwriter Anise Russow holds a fascination with the deep-rooted habits and cycles that make us all human (and complex). She uses songwriting as a vehicle for emotional reflection, as a way to formulate and organize feelings that may sit in between common definitions. Drawing deep inspiration from artists such as Billie Marten, Laura Marling, and Madison Cunningham, Anise uses floating melodies and dynamic instrumentals to create a contemplative listening atmosphere. Her lyrics primarily derive from observations of her personal processes, as well as on the patterns and behaviours of those who surround her.
