About this event
Physical objects can hold great emotional power. Each participant in this workshop will bring an item of emotional significance and will write two pieces in which the item plays a role. The first will involve a description of the object and a memory it evokes; the second piece, more reflective or dramatic, will explore how the item in question is implicated in the larger journey of our lives. Mark Abley is a poet and non-fiction writer. Spoken Here was shortlisted for the Writers' Trust Nonfiction Prize. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Saskatchewan in 2022. He lives in Gananoque.
