Did you know that Taiwan, Scotland, and Canada share historical ties dating back more than 150 years? Did you know that many of the missionaries who influenced Taiwan’s modern development were Scottish? Did you know that George Leslie Mackay also had close ties to Scotland? Travel back in time to the 19th century with Dr. Mimi Sung of Tainan Theological College. Starting from the history of churches, immigration, and transoceanic migration, we will gain a new understanding of the deep, yet rarely discussed, connections between Scotland, Canada, and Taiwan.
