About this event

Celebrate the season with the timeless music of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Vince Guaraldi’s iconic jazz score comes to life in an evening of soulful, swinging jazz that captures the heart of this Peanuts classic. Originally released in 1966, this beloved special follows Linus as he waits in a pumpkin patch for the mythical Great Pumpkin, holding on to hope, faith, and a little Halloween magic. Enjoy the nostalgic melodies in the warm, intimate setting of Rudy’s Jazz Room, the perfect way to mark the spooky season with friends, great music, and community. Hailing from Chicago, pianist Alex Murphy grew up surrounded by music in a family that nurtured his passion from an early age. He went on to study at DePaul University under Ron Perrillo and Dana Hall, and has learned from masters like Aaron Goldberg, Bill Charlap, Mark Colenburg, and Pascal LeBoeuf. Alex’s performance credits include national staples such as the Jazz Showcase, Andy’s Jazz Club, the Green Mill, Rudy’s Jazz
